In British parliamentary style debates a person can stand up and say ''Point of information'' or ''on that point'' and the person who has the floor (the person who is stating their argument) can then allow them to speak or refuse to take the point. If the person who has the floor refuses to take the point the person who attempted to make the point of information must now sit down and remain silent. If the person who had the floor decides to take the point the person making the point of information must then briefly state what they feel is flawed in the argument or ask for clarification about something the person who has the floor has said. A point of information cannot be made during the first or final minute of a person's speech.
